James R Eads’ work reminds me of a few things, but I can’t place any of them. In that way, it’s unique; it’s familiar, but at the same time increasingly strange and alluring. I review a lot of artists combing through submission after submission, while a lot of them are incredibly talent, it’s great to see really good work that I can’t quite describe. Also, in the Post-Portlandia culture he made birds in art cool again, how does some one even do that? This particular collection is The Forest is Thick and Reaches the Sky but you should check out all of his work on his website. Honestly, it’s really worth a look because each one of his collections is more interesting and different than last, which probably explains why it’s so hard to describe anyone of his pieces.
